Bosherston Lilyponds and Eight Arch Bridge
A gorgeously romantic walk. Why not take time to explore it on Valentines day or any special day: an anniversary perhaps? The National Trust-owned Stackpole Estate and the lily ponds are part of a National Nature Reserve. As the name suggests this ecological status means that it’s a great habitat for bird breeding, including coot, moorhen, mute swans, herons and kingfishes. Otters can be spotted occasionally as well as glorious dragonflies. Perhaps head out towards Stackpole Quay and enjoy a hot steaming cup of tea with delicious home made cake at the tearooms.

The Grove, Narberth
This is one of our favourite eateries in Pembrokeshire. The multi-award winning Grove, offers delicious morning coffee, lunches and dinners. During winter you can be greeted by a crackling log fire, deep luxurious sofas and of course fantastic service. Afternoon teas are highly recommended! Enjoy!
Saundersfoot
Walk on Saundersfoot beach followed by a steaming hot chocolate in a seaside café. Whatever your age or ability a brisk walk on this beautiful beach, hand in hand is to be savoured. The Harbour is so pretty at any time of the year, and there’s some great little shops too, including “Chobbles” sweet shop, which is a step into times gone by! If you head off along the beach and through the tunnels you’ll come to “Coast”, where a quick prosecco on the terrace – wrap up warm in Spring – certainly isn’t to be sniffed at.

Legendary romance at Carew Castle!
This year, Visit Wales is celebrating Legends! Not just people, but places, facts and even faces! We love nearby Carew Castle, standing majestically near the Carew Mill Pond, loved and cared for by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. Transport yourselves back to medieval or Tudor times with a guided tour, the castle has a 2000 year old history. Romanticism and love certainly wasn’t lost within the Castle Walls, Princess Nest, a true beauty led a turbulent life, as lover to Henry (later to become King Henry I) and wife of Gerald de Windsor who was Constable of Pembroke Castle. You’ll find the Carew Inn just opposite the Castle, which is a quirky pub serving great food.
Never feel Blue!
As Britain’s only Coastal National Park, Pembrokeshire’s beauty is outstanding, indeed often breathtaking. Drive North towards Abereiddy near Croesgoch where, after a short coastal walk, you’ll find the Blue Lagoon. At 25 m deep the Blue Lagoon is the remains of a small slate quarry, now flooded with sea water with a glorious blue/green hue in colour, derived from the mineral content of the quarry. If you and your partner are the sit and stare type grab an ice cream from the van and fill your boots… but, if you’re up for an adventure – well, just jump in!!
