Watersports in Pembrokeshire

You will be staying in one of the fastest developing areas for water-sports in Britain. We have listed below some of the activities available only a short drive away, but there are many, many more so please ask.

Windsurfing & Surfing

dfgThe coast of Pembrokeshire has some of the finest – and exhilarating – locations in Europe, indeed many national and international competitions are held every year in the area. From the large waves rolling in on swells that started way out in the Atlantic (the next stop west from us is America!) to the sheltered bays, lakes and dfgwaterways for the beginners and less adventurous, you are sure to find a suitable setting to follow this pastime, or why not spend a day or two to learn or improve the skills of these fun sports? – there are plenty of operators who will help, they include:

Newsurf - www.newsurf.co.uk

Sailing

dfgWhether it is dinghy sailing or cruiser racing, whether it to the picturesque upper reaches of the Cleddau River or out around the islands, you can participate or learn at one of the several sailing centres in Pembrokeshire – or why not treat yourself and your friends to the ultimate experience in indulgence and charter a luxury yacht for the day. It all awaits you in Britain’s only coastal National Park.

dfgAll levels of sailing competency are catered for in such a wide range of waters that you will be certain to find an opportunity to enjoy our splendid waters at close quarters.

Diving

The Marine Nature Reserve around Skomer Island, combined with a maritime history that is peppered with wrecks, makes the waters off the Pembrokeshire Coast some of the most interesting and varied in the UK. Add to that the Gulf Stream that washes our shores and you have species that are rarely seen anywhere else. Either enjoy these famous sites for the first time, or learn to dive at one of the approved schools in the area – or keep coming back so that you can take it all in.
